Electricity

Household customer prices

Breakdown and development of electricity prices for household customers since 2016

The household customer price, like the gas price, is made up of various components. The price components that are controlled by the supplier include energy procurement costs, distribution costs and the supplier's margin. There are also costs that are not controlled by the supplier. These costs include the network tariffs, which must be paid in order to use the networks, costs for metering and meter operation, concession fees, electricity and turnover tax as well as the surcharges laid down in law. All price components together make up the average electricity price of a household customer with an electricity consumption between 2,500 kilowatt hours (kWh) and 5,000 kWh per year.
